The Bishop on the Niger, Rt. Rev. Owen Chiedozie Nwokolo, has called on Christian men to emulate the steadfast faith, sacrificial lifestyle and unwavering commitment of St. James the Apostle in their Christian journey.
Bishop Nwokolo made the call during the 2026 Diocesan Men’s Christian Fellowship Conference held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Alor, on July 26, as part of activities marking the Feast of St. James the Apostle and encouraged the men to love Christ wholeheartedly, follow Him without hesitation and dedicate themselves to greater service in God’s kingdom with total commitment.
He stressed that genuine passion for Christ must be anchored on a deep understanding of God, explaining that zeal without sound knowledge cannot endure the challenges of life and ministry.
Drawing inspiration from the life of St. James, whose discipleship was marked by discipline, sacrifice and unwavering devotion, Bishop Nwokolo urged christian men to embrace selfless service, willingly make personal sacrifices for the advancement of God’s work and demonstrate their faith through impactful contributions to the Church and society.
The Bishop also underscored the need for christian leaders to remain committed to regular study of the Holy Scriptures while deliberately mobilising men for active fellowship, discipleship and effective leadership within the Diocese, noting that these are essential for building a vibrant and spiritually grounded Church.
