‎The Catholic Bishop, Most Rev. Denis Chidi Isizoh, has called on Catholic families to nurture strong and united homes through prayer, love, peace, forgiveness and adherence to Christian values.
‎
‎Bishop Isizoh made the call on Sept. 20, during his pastoral visit to St. Francis Xavier Parish, Hill View, Nkwelle Ezunaka, where he was received by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Francis Okafor, alongside members of the parish community. During the celebration, the Bishop commended the parish priest and parishioners for their dedication, steadfastness and commitment to the service of God and the church.
‎

‎In his homily, Bishop Isizoh emphasised the importance of building and sustaining healthy christian families, observing that the difficulties experienced in many homes and marriages could be associated with the absence of love, peace and forgiveness. He urged the faithful to consciously sustain the spiritual life of their families through regular family prayers and a continuous effort to grow in their christian faith.
‎
‎According to him, every catholic home should have three essential spiritual resources the Rosary, the Bible and the Catechism booklet which he described as important instruments for helping families deepen their faith and remain connected to God. The Bishop also encouraged parents and other family members to make their homes centres of prayer, love and mutual understanding, stressing that christians should demonstrate their faith through their conduct within their families and communities.
‎
‎Addressing the newly confirmed, Bishop Isizoh explained that the sacrament had strengthened them as soldiers of Christ and entrusted them with the responsibility of bearing witness to the christian faith. He also spoke on the importance of the Sign of the Cross, describing it as a powerful weapon and a visible expression of christian faith.
‎
‎The parish community expressed appreciation to the Bishop for the pastoral visit and prayed for God’s continued protection and strengthening of the homes of the faithful, particularly members of St. Francis Xavier Parish, Hill View, Nkwelle Ezunaka.

‎
‎Major highlight of the pastoral visit was the administration of the Sacrament of Confirmation to 251 candidates. The celebration ended with prayers and a renewed commitment by parishioners to strengthen their families and deepen their relationship with God.
