The Mayor of Awka South Local Government Area, Prince Chinedu Okafor, has felicitated with teachers across the Local Government Area on the occasion of this year’s Teachers’ Day, describing them as indispensable partners in the development of society.
Prince Okafor, in his social media message marking the celebration, acknowledged the sacrifices, dedication, and commitment of teachers in shaping the academic and moral development of children and preparing them for future leadership.
He noted that teachers play a vital role beyond the classroom, stressing that their influence extends to character formation, discipline and the development of responsible citizens.
The Mayor said his administration recognises education and human capital development as key components of sustainable growth, in line with the development vision of the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR.
According to him, investing in teachers and young people remains essential to building a productive and prosperous society, adding that the progress of Awka South depends largely on the quality of education available to its younger generation.
He commended teachers in the Local Government Area for their resilience and continued commitment to duty despite the various challenges associated with the profession.
Prince Okafor further assured that his administration would continue to support initiatives aimed at strengthening education, empowering teachers and improving the learning environment for children across Awka South.
He described teachers as “nation builders and character moulders,” noting that their contribution to society deserves recognition, appreciation and continued support.
The Mayor called on teachers to remain committed to their noble profession, assuring them that their efforts in shaping the future of the children would continue to receive the attention of his administration.
He congratulated all teachers in Awka South and wished them a rewarding Teachers’ Day celebration, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to advancing the Solution Agenda at the grassroots.
“To all our teachers in Awka South, we celebrate you, appreciate your sacrifices and thank you for your invaluable service to humanity. Happy Teachers’ Day,” Prince Okafor said.
