The Anambra State Urban Water Assets Holding Corporation (ASUWAHC) has taken a significant steps towards the implementation of its contractors’ exit plan with the employment of Mr. Iwuno Ifeanyi Samuel as an adhoc Plant Manager for the Otuocha Regional Water Scheme.
Mr. Iwuno, who holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Integrated Science Education, was employed to reinforce the Corporation’s technical workforce as it gradually transitioned from contractor-managed operations to direct management of its water production and distribution facilities.
Speaking on the development on July 13 at Awka, the Officer-in-Charge of the Corporation, Mrs. Emmanuella Okafor, said the employment forms part of ASUWAHC’s strategic efforts to prepare for the contractors’ exit. She explained that in his role, Mr. Iwuno will assist in supervising plant operations, monitor equipment performance, coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Otuocha Regional Water Scheme, and ensure efficient operation of the facility in line with the Corporation’s operational standards.
The employment underscores ASUWAHC’s commitment to building internal technical capacity and ensuring a seamless transition to sustainable, in-house management of the state’s water infrastructure.
