The Executive Chairman of the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB), Dr. Justina Anyadiegwu, has commended Dr. Chinedu Umeadi Foundation for its unwavering commitment to promoting educational excellence through scholarships, mentorship and the recognition of outstanding students and educators.
Speaking at the seventh edition of the Foundation’s Annual Award Ceremony in Awka, on June 24, Dr. Anyadiegwu described the initiative as a worthy complement to the Anambra State Government’s investment in quality education under the leadership of Governor Chukwuma Soludo. She noted that the Foundation’s efforts align with the administration’s vision of using education as a catalyst for sustainable development and human capital development.

She further praised the Foundation’s commitment to the Public-Private-Community Partnership (PPCP) model, noting that it is helping to nurture future leaders through targeted educational support.
Dr. Anyadiegwu congratulated all the award recipients and encouraged them to remain committed to excellence, assuring them that ASUBEB would continue to partner with organisations that share the vision of ensuring every child has access to quality basic education.
Speaking on behalf of the awardees, the Principal of Christ the King College, Onitsha, Rev. Fr. Celestine Arinze, who received the Best Administrator Award, described the honour as a reflection of the school’s long standing culture of excellence.
He said the college has consistently distinguished itself through hard work, discipline and high academic standards. According to him, the transparent selection process and the recognition received would further inspire both staff and students to strive for greater excellence and compete successfully on any platform.
Also speaking, Miss Chinaza Okeke of St. Kizito Girls’ Secondary School, Umudioka, who emerged overall winner in the Senior Category, expressed gratitude to the Foundation for the recognition. She described the award as a source of motivation to remain focused on her studies and pursue greater academic achievements.
Chinaza added that the competition encourages students to cultivate a strong reading culture, remain determined and never give up on their dreams, while expressing hope that the initiative would continue to grow and inspire more students across Anambra State.
