‎The Anambra State Town Union Council (ASTUC) Youth Wing on Sept. 20 honoured distinguished sons of Ekwusigo Local Government Area for their contributions to society and urged them to continue serving as role models for the younger generation.
‎
‎The recognition formed part of the ASTUC Youth Wing’s initiative to identify and celebrate outstanding Ndi Anambra across the 21 local government areas of the state, with the aim of promoting role models whose lives reflect integrity, hard work, leadership, service and commitment to community development.
‎
‎Speaking at the event, the Mayor of Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Hon. Chimezie Obi, commended the ASTUC Youth Wing for its efforts towards promoting responsible citizenship and youth development across Anambra State.
‎

Obi said that, as a young leader, he regarded his position as an opportunity to demonstrate that young people could provide purposeful leadership and contribute meaningfully to the transformation of their communities.

‎He added that his administration remained committed to creating opportunities for young people to participate in leadership and contribute to the development of Ekwusigo.
‎
‎The President-General of the ASTUC Youth Wing, Comrade Ken Okoli, said the values being promoted by the organisation were reflected in the lives and achievements of the honourees.
‎Okoli explained that the recognition was not only intended to celebrate their accomplishments but also to encourage younger people to learn from their positive examples and contribute to the development of their communities.

‎One of the recipients, Sir Vin Dike of Oraifite, an All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for the Ekwusigo, Nnewi North and South Federal Constituency, described the honour as a motivation to remain committed to impactful leadership and service to the people. Another recipient, Chief Anthony Ike of Ozubulu, expressed appreciation for the recognition, saying it would encourage him to do more for his community and society.

‎Chief Mukosolu Okosieme of Ozubulu, who was represented by Mr. Emmanuel Uchendu, described youths as the pillars of every community and pledged his continued support for initiatives aimed at empowering and supporting young people.

‎Other recipients, including Chief Nnaemeka Onyeanusi of Ichi, represented by Mr. Ejike Ohamadike, and Chief Okwudili Agbodike of Ihembosi, expressed gratitude for the recognition and pledged to sustain their contributions to the development of their communities and Anambra State.
