The Anambra State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (ASPHCDA), alongside Directors of Primary Healthcare from the 21 Local Government Health Authorities and other health workers, has joined the family, friends and colleagues of the late Executive Secretary, Dr Obianuju Chinelo Okoye, to bid her a final farewell.

The burial Mass was celebrated on Aug. 21, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Nkwoagu Nnaka, Orumba North Local Government Area(LGA), with dignitaries from Anambra State and beyond in attendance.

In his homily, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia, His Eminence Peter Ebere Cardinal Okpaleke, urged christians to live Christ like lives and remain steadfast in times of difficulty, calling on those who remember Dr Okoye to pray for the peaceful repose of her soul.

During a condolence visit to the Okoye family at their residence in Etti Village, Nnaka, the Director of Disease Control and Immunization, ASPHCDA, Dr Chike Ohamaobi, expressed the agency’s sympathy, praying for comfort and strength for the bereaved family.

Dr Okoye was appointed Executive Secretary/CEO of ASPHCDA by Governor Chukwuma Soludo on April 23, and served until her death on June 11. She had previously served with the Anambra State Ministry of Health.

Her brief tenure and contributions to the state’s primary healthcare system are remembered by colleagues as part of her enduring legacy in healthcare service.

The ASPHCDA family prayed for God’s comfort for her loved ones and eternal rest for her soul.

Perpetual light shine upon her, O Lord, and may her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace. Amen.
