The Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA), in collaboration with the City Boys Movement Healthcare Initiative, has successfully enrolled 500 residents of Anambra State into the Anambra Health Insurance Scheme (AHIS).
The adoption initiative, facilitated by the City Boys Movement, is part of ongoing efforts to expand access to affordable and quality healthcare across communities in the state.
Speaking at the event held at the Primary Health Centre, Eziowelle, the President General of Eziowelle, Dr. Obiora Julian, expressed deep appreciation to the City Boys Movement and ASHIA for their commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of the people.
He commended the initiative as timely and impactful, noting that it would significantly reduce the financial burden of healthcare on beneficiaries and promote a healthier community. He also encouraged the enrollees to take full advantage of the opportunity provided.
The enrollment exercise was organized by Mrs. Nneoma Anoliefo, who praised the City Boys Movement for their benevolence and noted that the initiative spans across the South-East states.
During the event, Mrs. Okoli Tonia sensitized the newly registered enrollees on the benefits of ASHIA and how to effectively access healthcare services under the scheme.
Also present at the event was the WDC Chairman, Chief Ojiakor-Aniegboka Donatus Nnaemeka, alongside other community stakeholders. In attendance as well was the Palace Secretary, Dr. Jerry Anyaegbu, who represented His Royal Highness, Igwe Mike Okonkwo (Etusi), the King of Eziowelle.
Some of the beneficiaries include Onyekwelu Okechukwu and Clifford Chukwunonyelu, who expressed gratitude for the opportunity to access quality healthcare services.
The highlight of the event was the official presentation of ASHIA ID cards to the enrollees.
