The Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA), Dr. Ezeka Augustine Uwaeme, on Monday, 11th May 2026, held a general meeting with members of staff of the Agency at the ASHIA headquarters.
The meeting provided an opportunity for Dr. Ezeka to familiarize himself with staff members through individual introductions, as well as an overview of their various roles and responsibilities within the Agency.
Addressing the staff, Dr. Ezeka urged them to continue working in harmony and unity to ensure the smooth running of the Agency and the achievement of its objectives. He commended them for their dedication and hard work, expressing optimism about building a productive and cordial working relationship with the workforce.
The ASHIA Executive Secretary further encouraged staff to intensify efforts towards enrolling more residents into the health insurance scheme in line with the Agency’s mandate of expanding healthcare coverage across the State.
He also advised staff to cultivate a good saving culture and apply wisdom in the discharge of their duties. Dr. Ezeka emphasized the importance of treating every enrollee with respect, professionalism, and courtesy in order to sustain public trust and confidence in the Agency.
Speaking on behalf of the staff, the Head of Administrative Department, Mrs. Nwankwo Blessing, congratulated Dr. Ezeka Augustine Uwaeme on his appointment as the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of ASHIA and assured him of the staff’s support and cooperation.
Mrs. Nwankwo described his appointment as a welcome development and expressed confidence in his ability to move the Agency forward through purposeful leadership and teamwork.
She further pledged the commitment of staff to working harmoniously with the new Executive Secretary toward achieving the goals and vision of the Agency.
