The Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA) has registered more than 100 residents of Enugwu Ukwu under its Adoption Model programme, sponsored through the Senator Abana Foundation, in a renewed effort to expand access to affordable healthcare.
The registration exercise took place in Enugwu-Ukwu on Oct. 31, as part of the state government’s drive to ensure that more residents benefit from quality healthcare without facing excessive financial burdens.
The exercise was conducted by the ASHIA team, with Miss Uche Efogwo representing the Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr. Augustine Ezeka.

The Adoption Model is designed to encourage well meaning individuals, organisations and foundations to sponsor health insurance enrolment for residents who may otherwise struggle to afford healthcare coverage.
Through the initiative, sponsors help beneficiaries access essential healthcare services while reducing the financial pressure associated with medical expenses.
ASHIA commended the Senator Abana Foundation for its support and commitment to improving the health and well being of residents, describing such partnerships as important to expanding health insurance coverage across Anambra State.
The agency encouraged more individuals, organisations and corporate bodies to embrace the Adoption Model and support efforts to make healthcare accessible and affordable to more people.
