The usual bumper-to-bumper traffic strain on motorists at the Aroma Flyover, Awka has reduced.

Commuters are thankful to the state Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo on the creation of the new Ifite-Amenyi road and the spur to work by the Anambra State Traffic Maintenance Agency (ARTMA) officials.

Information Officers noticing this was at the Aroma road circuit to find out what changed. Road users were quick to give Governor Soludo a thumbs-up for doing all he could to make things happen in the state.

Some Respondents spoke to us: Kingsley Ezeaso says, “the free flow now is because of ARTMA.”

“Those ARTMA guys are on the road day and night, controlling traffic; they don’t rest,” said Ebubechukwuzo a resident of the city.

A commuter, Benjamin Dibbor said, “the new Ifite Flyover has taken a lot of concentrations off the Aroma junction. That Ifite Flyover is helping to decongest the road. If they can build one at Regina By-pass too, it will cut the long journey for motorists heading to Awka North. Right now they all have to pass through Aroma.”

Miss Blessing Agbo also weighed in, saying, “ARTMA personnel are doing their work well. You see them standing there even at night.”

Mr. Lawrence, a security officer working around the Aroma area, agreed that it is a mixture of ARTMA and the traffic lights that is easing the traffic.

“Since the traffic lights started working properly, the congestion has gone down small,” he said.

For many drivers and pedestrians, the change is a welcome break from the daily stress of getting stuck under the flyover.
