The APGA Consensus Candidate for the August 16th re- run by- election for the Anambra South Senatorial Zone, Chief Emma Nwachukwu has assured the electorate in the zone of undiluted quality representation if voted into office.
Fielding questions from journalists at the NUJ’s August Council meeting at the Chief Godwin Ezeemo International Press Center, Awka, Chief Nwachukwu assured that he will carry his constituents along through open door policy framework of convening periodic consultative fora to rub minds with them on the way forward.
According to him, his office will synergize with the office of the executive governor of the state to discuss domestic issues concerning the state and the zone.
Chief Nwachukwu further disclosed his intention to work closely with other Senatorial representatives from other political parties in the Senate to tackle issues concerning Anambra State as a project.
On the interrogation on the alleged questionable means through which he emerged as the flag bearer of the party for the election, he announced that he emerged as the consensus candidate after eight contestants aspiring to be the flag bearer of the party, were subjected to a selective process during which he scored two votes against other aspirants who scored below two votes.
Chief Nwachukwu confirmed with joy and bewilderment that the aspirants he contested with namely Hon. Dr. Paschal Agbodike representing Ihaiala Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, Chief Akai among others are his lead campaigners in their different constituencies.
He promised if voted into power, to sustain the legacies of the late Dr. Ifeanyi Uba who vacated the seat through the call of nature.
Such projects include the Eastern rail line, roads, and other Constituency matters left unfulfilled.
On erosion, the consensus candidate promised to sustain the clamour for federal and other interventions to save the state and the zone from shrinking out of existence.
On security matters, he re-iterated the exploits recorded by Governor Chukwuma Soludo in establishing the “Agunaechemba’ security outfit which has reduced the rate of crimes and criminalities in the state.
Going forward, Chief Nwachukwu promised to make appreciable impact through quality laws to address the challenges.
As the former President General of the Ukpor town Union during the Former Governor Willie Obiano era, he spoke of his efforts in making the Afor Ukpor Market project functional and the experience he garnered in the process which has equipped him on how to handle the challenges he will face at the red Chambers if he gets there.
In all, Chief Nwachukwu a seasoned politician, Accountant, Banker and a stable calculated colossus in the business of leading people, is optimistic that if voted into power, he will make an exceptional difference in making quality laws that will benefit his constituents and beyond.
