The Mayor of Anambra West Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Edith Nkeiru Ndive, has reiterated her administration’s commitment to the welfare, inclusion, and empowerment of persons living with disabilities in the council area.
Hon. Mrs. Ndive made the pledge on May 7, while addressing persons with disabilities at the Local Government Secretariat, Nzam during which she assured them that her administration would continue to promote equal opportunities and build a more inclusive Anambra West, irrespective of physical challenges.
The Mayor encouraged members of the disability community to remain hopeful, resilient, and actively engaged in societal development, emphasizing that their contributions remain vital to the growth and progress of Anambra West.
She further assured them that the council would sustain support for policies, initiatives, and programmes aimed at addressing the challenges confronting persons with disabilities and improving their living conditions.
Mrs. Ndive also called on stakeholders, community leaders, and development partners to collaborate with the local government in advancing policies and interventions that would enhance the well-being and socio-economic development of persons with disabilities in the area.
The meeting provided an opportunity for interaction between the council leadership and members of the disability community, as discussions centered on inclusion, empowerment, and community participation.
