The Mayor of Anambra West LGA , Hon. Mrs. Edith Nkeiru Ndive has called on party faithful, stakeholders, youths, and supporters of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra West to embrace peace, unity, and sportsmanship ahead of the party primaries scheduled for May 23.
In a statement released to the media today, May 22 ahead of the exercise, the mayor urged all sons and daughters of Anambra West to see the primaries as a democratic process aimed at strengthening the party and advancing the collective interest of the people, rather than an avenue for division or conflict.
Hon. Ndive emphasized that politics is temporary, but the bond of brotherhood and sisterhood among the people of Anambra West must remain permanent.
She noted that the development and progress of the local government can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace, tolerance, and unity.
She appealed to party members and supporters to avoid every form of violence, hate speech, intimidation, and actions capable of causing disunity before, during, and after the primaries.
According to the mayor, the spirit of political maturity and sportsmanship must guide the conduct of all participants throughout the exercise, stressing that victory ultimately belongs to APGA and the people of Anambra West.
Hon. Ndive further expressed confidence that a peaceful and transparent primary election would further strengthen the ruling party in the area and pave the way for continued progress and harmony in Anambra West.
