The Executive Chairman of Anambra West Local Government Area, Hon. Fidelis Nnazor, on Tuesday actively monitored the distribution of materials for the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise across the 10 wards in the LGA.

Mr. Nnazor, who led his team comprising local officials and some party stakeholders, visited several INEC- designated CVR centers to ensure timely and transparent deployment of registration materials.

Speaking during inspection, he expressed satisfaction with the organization and readiness of INEC staff and emphasized the importance of the exercise in strengthening democratic participation in the area.

He asserted critical importance of the Permanent Voter Card (PVC), describing it as a powerful tool through which citizens can demand good governance and secure the dividends of democracy for the state, the local government, and their communities.

Anambra West boss passionately urged the people of Anambra West to seize this golden opportunity to register, noting that participation in the electoral process is both a right and a civic responsibility.

“As a lawful citizen, your Permanent Voter Card ensures that your voice is heard and that you have a say in the political direction of our country,” he said.

Mr. Nnazor assured residents of the council’s support in ensuring a smooth registration process, including logistics assistance where needed. And encouraged community leaders, traditional rulers, and youth groups to mobilize and educate their constituents on the importance of obtaining a Permanent Voter Card (PVC).

The INEC CVR exercise is part of a nationwide effort to improve voter inclusion ahead of the next elections. It targets new voters, those who have relocated, or those whose PVCs have been lost or damaged.

Indeed communities response across Anambra West has been positive, with many residents turning up at registration centers as early as. Equally Local youth and civil society groups have also joined in sensitization efforts, echoing Hon. Nnazor’s call for full participation.
