Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Edward Obiefuna Ibuzo, on 30 June, led senior ministry officials on a working visit to Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing in Nnewi. The delegation was warmly received by the company’s founder, Chief Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma, OFR.
Chief Chukwuma conducted the team on a guided tour of the plant, explaining the production process and showcasing new facilities under construction aimed at expanding local automobile manufacturing capacity and boosting Nigeria’s industrial growth.
During the inspection, he introduced the delegation to Innoson’s electric vehicles, highlighting their modern technology, affordability, durability, and eight-year warranty designed to meet local transport needs on Nigerian roads.
The industrialist reaffirmed his commitment to indigenous manufacturing, noting that increased patronage of locally made vehicles would spur industrial growth, create jobs, strengthen the economy, and promote national self-reliance.
Commissioner Ibuzo commended Chief Chukwuma’s investment in the automotive industry, describing Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing as a model of innovation, resilience, and private-sector leadership that enhances industrial capacity and consumer confidence.
He sought Chief Chukwuma’s continued support for Anambra’s transport vision, stressing that collaboration between government and indigenous manufacturers would drive innovation, strengthen the transport sector, and accelerate sustainable economic development across the state.
After the facility tour, Chief Chukwuma hosted the delegation at his Nnewi residence, offering prayers for the Commissioner, Anambra State, and Nigeria while discussing mutual interests and partnership opportunities.
The visit concluded with the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport, Engr. Marcel Obiekwe, expressing appreciation to Chief Chukwuma for his hospitality. He praised the industrialist’s commitment to manufacturing and wished him continued success in promoting indigenous industrial development.
