The Anambra State Government is set to partner with the newly built Sunday Nnaemeka Memorial Tech Innovation Foundation at Oroma-Etiti Anam.
The Special Assistant to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Innovation and Business Incubation and CEO Solution Innovation District (SID), Ms Chinwe Okoli said this at the launching of the Tech Hub on April 25 at Oroma-Etiti Anam.
“This is the 21st private tech hub that was opened by private people since Governor Soludo assumed office. For us at SID, we are going to partner with them and make sure that our programs get to the people at the grassroots so that the great people of Anam can access digital opportunities, making use of this innovation hub.
“The goal is actually making Anambra State the digital and creative capital of Nigeria which is Mr Governor’s agenda. That is the reason he dedicated the old government house 13.7 hectares of land to become the permanent site for SID,” she said.
Ms Okoli said that she had discussed with the sponsor of the tech hub, Chief Anthony Nnaemeka to see how best to collaborate to make sure that the place is optimised for the good people of Anam.
Chief Nnaemeka built the tech hub in memory of his elder brother, Sunday Nnaemeka who died 34 years in an auto accident.
“I built the tech hub to immortalise my immediate elder brother, Sunday Nnaemeka who died at a very young age of 27 in 1992.
“My brother was a very kind hearted person so to make sure that his name does not get lost, I built the tech hub so that young people will learn how to repair phone and computer, how to install CCTV, access control, solar light. They will also learn coding, website, cyber security etc. And they will be taught free of charge.
