The Anambra State Government has commended the Malaria Consortium for its partnership in the distribution of Insecticide-Treated Mosquito Nets (ITNs) across the State in 2022.

While speaking at the project dissemination meeting, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Obiageli Uchebo, stated that the state benefited greatly from Malaria Consortium and expressed hope that the project could be extended.
Though you have been with us for the past four years, we are glad to gather here for this dissemination; it means a lot to us. First of all, let me acknowledge all you have been doing in the health sector.

While elaborating on the achievements of the project in the state, the Senior Project Manager, Mr. Abiola Oluwagbemiga, appreciated the state for the successful collaboration,
“Partnership with Anambra State has been instrumental in the successful implementation of the Insecticide-Treated Net Campaign. In 2022, we distributed over 3.85 million treated nets across the state, significantly improving households’ access to malaria prevention.

He added, “this was complemented by a multi-year ITN Campaign Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) project. Through this M&E study, we have gained important insights to better understand ITN campaign programme performance, including ITN access and use, durability, and factors influencing the effectiveness of malaria interventions. These insights are critical in guiding future vector control strategies in the state.
The Intergrated Vector Management Officer of the Ministry, Mr. Okechukwu Ezike in his remarks commended the partners on their efforts but lamented that they would be leaving the state soon.
