The Secretary to the Anambra State Government (SSG), Her Honour, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake, has received the Pillar of Moral Education Award in recognition of her contributions to promoting moral values and the development of responsible young people.
Nnake received the award as Special Guest at the 2026 12th Annual CHAPOL/PPSSC Conference on Moral Values for students of the 274 government secondary schools in Anambra State. The one-day conference and seminar, held at the Women Development Centre, Anambra State, also marked the 12th anniversary of the annual event.
Organised by the Chaplain Corps Policing Explorers (CHAPOL), the conference is part of ongoing efforts to promote positive behaviour, strengthen character formation and address social vices among secondary school students across the state.
CHAPOL, a paramilitary non-governmental organisation, focuses on tackling challenges such as cultism, drug abuse, examination malpractice and other forms of misconduct among young people. Through mentorship, counselling, training and educational programmes, the organisation seeks to instil discipline, integrity and responsible citizenship in students.
The recognition of Mrs Nnake underscores the importance of supporting initiatives that promote moral education and help young people make responsible choices in their academic and personal lives.
Now in its 12th year, the annual conference provides a platform for discussions on values regeneration, character reformation and mentorship, while encouraging stronger collaboration among government institutions, schools, parents and relevant organisations.
The Commandant of CHAPOL, Commandant Dr Joseph N. Ekwunife, ACG, JP, leads the organisation’s efforts to promote moral discipline and discourage social vices among students in Anambra State.
The conference reaffirmed the importance of a collective approach to raising a generation of disciplined, morally upright and socially responsible young people.
