The Anambra State Police Command has acknowledged a viral video complaining of unprofessional behavior by officers in Onitsha.
In an official statement, the Command confirmed that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Okpoko Division has begun identifying the involved officers.
Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu ordered the DPO to bring the officers forward for investigation and potential discipline, with Nigeria Police Force rules. Early findings show the DPO previously directed officers to pinpoint the culprits, and the money taken from the victim has been returned pointing to misconduct.
The probe also hints at involvement by the POS operator in a possible conspiracy. The Command reaffirmed its dedication to accountability, promising no protection for guilty officers and strict adherence to disciplinary procedures.
