As political momentum builds ahead of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) primaries, a youth group in Anambra North Senatorial Zone has thrown its weight behind Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, urging party members to unite and deliver a decisive mandate in his favour.
The group, Anambra North Youths for Obiogbolu, on May 4, called on APGA members across the 99 wards in the senatorial district to rally behind Obiogbolu during the party’s forthcoming primary elections.
In a statement signed by its leader, Comrade Nonso Obiekwe, the youths described the primaries as a defining moment for the zone’s political future. They stressed the need for party faithful to make a collective and informed choice anchored on competence, integrity, and a clear vision for development.
According to the group, the adoption of the Option A4 voting system by APGA provides a transparent and credible framework for the exercise. Under this method, delegates queue openly behind their preferred aspirants, a process the youths say enhances accountability and builds trust in the outcome.
Obiekwe maintained that Obiogbolu stands out as the most qualified aspirant to represent Anambra North in the Senate, citing his track record, leadership experience, and commitment to grassroots-oriented service. He further described the aspirant as a unifying figure capable of harmonising diverse interests across the zone.
“We urge all APGA members in the 99 wards to come out en masse and queue behind Dr. Alex Obiogbolu on the day of the primaries. This is the moment to make our voices count and demonstrate our collective will. Obiogbolu has remained steadfast with the party, and now is the time to reciprocate that loyalty,” the statement read.
The group added that supporting Obiogbolu would signal a shared commitment to transparency, accountability, and sustainable development in Anambra North.
Reiterating its position, the youth body called on stakeholders, delegates, and party loyalists to close ranks and embrace unity under a common agenda.
