The Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Clem Aguiyi, has reaffirmed the state’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) in advancing environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance across the state.
During a meeting at his office on June 11 with officials of NESREA, Dr. Aguiyi stressed the importance of strong partnerships in addressing environmental challenges and advancing best practices in environmental management.

The meeting was aimed at outlining a shared direction forward, with deliberations focusing on strengthening environmental governance, ensuring better compliance with environmental standards, intensifying public awareness campaigns, and deepening collaboration between the Anambra State Ministry of Environment and NESREA
According to the commissioner, the environmental transformation agenda of Governor Chukwuma Soludo places a premium on strategic partnerships that support the vision of a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Anambra.
The NESREA delegation praised the ministry’s proactive commitment to environmental stewardship and reaffirmed its readiness to collaborate closely with the state government in implementing effective environmental programmes and policies.
The meeting ended with a mutual resolve to strengthen institutional collaboration and promote joint initiatives aimed at environmental protection, public health, and sustainable development in Anambra State. Dr. Aguiyi noted, “Sustainable environmental outcomes are attained when institutions align on a common vision and collective responsibility.”
