The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to resolving the lingering electricity challenges affecting communities in Orumba South Local Government Area through the completion and operation of the Ogboji Injection Substation.

The Commissioner for Power, Anambra State, Engr. Casmir Chinenye Agummadu, gave the assurance during a meeting with stakeholders from Ogboji, Agbudu, Onneh, and Ndiokpaleke communities at the Ministry in Awka on the August 11.

The meeting focused on the persistent power supply challenges in the area and the strategic role of the Obogji Injection Substation in improving electricity distribution across the affected communities.

Agummadu said the substation was designed to provide uninterrupted electricity supply to the surrounding communities and the proposed Anambra Mixed-Use Industrial City (AMIC), describing the project as a critical component of the state’s industrial development agenda.

He noted that improved power infrastructure would support economic growth, attract investment, and position Anambra as a competitive manufacturing and industrial hub in West Africa.

Speaking on behalf of the communities, the President General of Ogboji Town Union, Hon. Ndubisi Nwaedozie, expressed appreciation to the state government for addressing their long-standing electricity challenges and advancing infrastructure development in the area.

Other stakeholders, including Chief Kay Anyachor, Hon. John Obiano, Mazi Chiler Orji, Hon. Nnaka Stan a Stakeholder from Ogboji and APGA candidate for State House of Assembly Orumba South Constituency also commended the government’s efforts and pledged their support for the successful implementation and protection of the project.

They emphasized that sustained collaboration among the Ministry of Power, the benefiting communities, and the electricity distribution company would be essential to ensuring reliable power supply and the long-term success of the project.
