A member of the Anambra State House of Assembly representing Anambra West Constituency, Rt. Hon. Patrick Udoba, has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for approving and initiating the construction of a transformer substation in Umueze Anam community, in Anambra West LGA.
The project, which was recently approved by the Anambra State Executive Council, was awarded to Aries and Gold Ventures Ltd for the Nnewi site and Aijovic Construction Ltd for Umueze Anam.
In a chat with information officer, Hon. Udoba described the project as a major milestone in the state government’s efforts to strengthen power infrastructure and improve electricity supply across rural communities in the state.
The lawmaker highlighted that the substations will serve as integrated systems to support efficient power generation, reliable distribution, and safe transmission, ultimately driving economic growth and improving living standards for residents.
On the significance of the project, the Anambra lawmaker asserts that the transformer substation is designed as an integrated system capable of supporting sustainable grid transformation, efficient power generation, and reliable electricity distribution.
The Umueze Anam born lawmaker emphasized that the facility will enhance safe and effective power transmission, thereby boosting economic activities and improving the quality of life for residents.
Hon. Udoba further applauded the Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Mr. Julius Chukwuemeka, for his commitment and steadfast leadership in ensuring the actualization of the long-awaited project.
He reaffirmed his appreciation to Governor Soludo for prioritizing infrastructure development and inclusive governance, particularly in rural communities, noting that the initiative aligns with the administration’s broader vision of sustainable development and improved public service delivery across Anambra State.
