The Administrator of the State Hospital Management Board in Anambra State, Dr. Frank Ifeanaeme, has congratulated Dr. Afam Obidike on his reappointment as the state Commissioner for Health.

In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the State Hospital Management Board, Dr. Ifeanaeme described the reappointment as well deserved, citing Obidike’s remarkable achievements during his previous tenure in office.

“I warmly congratulate you on your well-deserved reappointment as the Honourable Commissioner for Health,” the statement read.

According to him, the reappointment reflects the confidence reposed in Obidike’s leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to improving healthcare delivery in Anambra State.

Dr. Ifeanaeme noted that Obidike’s previous tenure witnessed major reforms in the health sector, particularly in the construction of new secondary healthcare facilities and the revitalisation of existing ones across the state.

He said the interventions significantly improved access to quality healthcare services for residents.

The hospital administrator also commended the commissioner for expanding the health workforce through the employment of over 2,000 health professionals, a move he said greatly boosted service delivery and operational efficiency in public health institutions.

He further praised Obidike’s support for the free antenatal care and delivery programme introduced by the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, describing it as one of the landmark achievements in the state’s healthcare sector.

According to him, the programme has recorded over 90,000 successful natural deliveries and more than 600 cesarean sections, demonstrating the government’s commitment to reducing maternal and neonatal mortality.

Expressing optimism about the future of the health sector, Dr. Ifeanaeme said the board looks forward to continued collaboration with the commissioner in strengthening healthcare delivery across the state.

“As you begin this new term, we are confident that you will consolidate on these achievements and continue to introduce innovative policies that will further reposition the health sector for excellence,” the statement concluded.
