The Anambra State Ministry of Transport has recorded a high rate of compliance among private motor parks in Onitsha and Nnewi following the state government’s directive for full business operations on Mondays.
A monitoring exercise conducted on Monday, May 25, 2026, by the Ministry’s Park Monitoring and Compliance Team found 90% of inspected parks open and actively loading passengers. The inspection was carried out under the directive of the Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Edward Obiefuna Ibuzo.
Ministry officials described the compliance level as encouraging, noting that the response from transport stakeholders reflects growing confidence in the government’s efforts to boost economic and social activity across the state.
Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Ibuzo commended operators for adhering to the directive and urged those yet to comply to support the administration’s drive to improve commerce, security, and free movement within Anambra.
He reiterated that Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s administration remains committed to creating a conducive environment for businesses and transport services to operate throughout the week.
The Ministry also assured residents that monitoring and enforcement operations would continue in other parts of the state to ensure full compliance and sustain smooth commercial and transport activity on Mondays.
