The Anambra State Government has strengthened monitoring and supervision in the basic education sector by distributing newly acquired vehicles to officers of the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) on June 24.
Handing over the vehicles to beneficiary officers, the Executive Chairman of ASUBEB, Dr. Justina Anyadiegwu, said the initiative reflects Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s commitment to improving education delivery in partnership with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).
Dr. Anyadiegwu explained that the vehicles were procured to enhance efficiency, productivity, monitoring, and supervision across the state’s basic education system. She noted that effective quality assurance, project inspection, and school supervision depend largely on adequate mobility.
According to her, the shuttle buses and truck are strategic assets designed to support the vision of a smart, efficient, and accountable public service. She described the vehicles as a significant investment in quality basic education and urged beneficiaries to handle them responsibly.

She further directed that the vehicles be used strictly for official duties, including school supervision, monitoring and evaluation, field operations, and other administrative assignments. She also stressed the importance of regular maintenance and proper servicing to ensure their longevity.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Head of Quality Assurance, Awka South Local Government Area, Mrs. Ebele Iloerika, expressed appreciation to Governor Soludo for what she described as a commendable and unprecedented gesture.
Mrs. Iloerika assured that the vehicles would be put to effective use to strengthen school monitoring and supervision, improve productivity, and contribute to better learning outcomes across the state.
