‎The Anambra State Ministry of Education has mobilised key stakeholders in the education sector to ensure that all schools across the state complete the 2025/2026 Annual School Census before the stipulated deadline.
‎
‎The ministry made the call at a stakeholders’ meeting held on Sept. 17, at the ASUBEB Utility Hall, Awka, where participants were urged to improve data submission through the designated DNEMIS platform.
‎
‎Representing the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ekene Ogugua, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ifeoma Agbaizu, urged stakeholders to intensify efforts to ensure that all public, mission and private schools complete and upload their required data.
‎

‎Agbaizu stressed the importance of accurate and up-to-date school data in effective education planning, government decision-making and access to various education intervention programmes.
‎
‎She noted that some Federal Government education interventions were linked to data submitted by schools, making accurate and timely completion of the census essential.
‎

‎The Chairman of the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB), Dr. Justina Anyadiegwu, represented by the Director of Legal Services, Barr. Eucharia Ohuoha, urged stakeholders to familiarise themselves with the census requirements and assist schools within their respective areas to meet the deadline.
‎

‎The Director of Planning, Statistics and Research, Mr. J.C. Aghanya, said more efforts were required to achieve full compliance across the state, stressing the need for schools to provide accurate and timely education data.
‎
‎The meeting also featured a practical training session on how to complete the Annual School Census through the DNEMIS platform, particularly for stakeholders who missed previous training sessions or required additional guidance.
