The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, has urged President-Generals of communities across the state to make security and the wellbeing of their people a top priority. CP Oji Ama made the call on Sept. 4, during a meeting with President-Generals of communities in the state as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the police and community leadership.
The commissioner emphasised the important role community leaders play in maintaining peace and security at the grassroots, urging them to work closely with security agencies to identify and address emerging security challenges.
He said effective collaboration between the police and community leaders was necessary to contain issues capable of threatening peace and stability in the state.
According to him, community leaders “occupy an important place” in their respective communities and should therefore place the security and wellbeing of their people at the forefront of their responsibilities.
He called for collective efforts to ensure that security concerns are promptly identified and addressed, stressing that maintaining safe communities requires the cooperation of all stakeholders.
The meeting underscores the Anambra State Police Command’s continued engagement with traditional and community leadership in strengthening grassroots security and promoting a safer environment across the state.
