The Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure has condemned the alleged destruction of sections of the ongoing Ndiukwuenu–Awgbu Road Project by suspected land scavengers using heavy equipment, describing the act as a threat to the state’s infrastructure development.
The committee made the condemnation during an inspection of ongoing and completed road projects across the state on July 1, warning that vandalism and encroachment on public infrastructure would not be tolerated.

Chairman of the Committee and member representing Orumba South Constituency, Hon. Emma Nwafor, said the Assembly would formally report the incident to the Anambra State Government for prompt intervention.
He commended the contractor handling the Ndiukwuenu–Awgbu Road Project for the quality of work and expressed satisfaction with the pace of construction.

At the 3.5-kilometre Igboukwu–Amichi Link Road, the committee noted that the project was nearing completion and met the required engineering standards, with only a catchment area left to be completed.
The lawmakers also confirmed the completion of the Akpo–Ogboji Road Project, describing it as another milestone in the state’s road infrastructure development.

Member representing Aguata I Constituency, Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke, commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for addressing the infrastructure needs of communities through strategic road projects,
He also noted that the projects would improve transportation, boost economic activities, and enhance economic wellbeing of residents.
