The Anambra State Information and Communication Technology Agency has commenced a strategic initiative to support the development and deployment of standardised official websites for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) across the State, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to building a connected, efficient, and digitally enabled government in line with Governor Soludo’s vision of “Everything Technology, Technology Everywhere.”
The initiative is part of the State’s broader digital governance agenda and aligns with the approved Information and Communication Technology (ICT) modalities established for MDAs, which provide a structured framework for government digital assets, including official websites, government email systems, cloud services, e-government platforms, and other technology-enabled services.
The move builds on the State Government’s earlier directive on adherence to approved ICT standards, aimed at ensuring that government technology infrastructure is secure, consistent, interoperable, and citizen-focused. Through the Agency’s coordination, MDAs are being guided towards a unified digital presence that improves accessibility, transparency, and service delivery.
As part of the implementation process, MDAs without official websites are required to engage with the Agency through the designated support platform and provide the necessary institutional information and content required for website development and deployment. This includes official information about the MDAs, their mandates, leadership details, services, contact information, and other relevant resources needed to create functional public-facing platforms.
According to the MD/CEO, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, CFA, the initiative goes beyond creating online platforms, but is focused on establishing a reliable digital identity for government institutions and improving how citizens access government information and services.
“The initiative further strengthens the State’s digital transformation efforts by promoting better information management, improved cybersecurity practices, reduced duplication, and a more coordinated digital ecosystem across government institutions. The Agency is committed to building the digital foundation required for a modern and future-ready government,” Agbata stated.
He maintained that the initiative aligns with the Agency’s 2.0 roadmap towards becoming an AI-First Native Agency, noting that a future-ready government requires strong digital foundations.
“An AI-First government requires structured information, secure platforms, and reliable systems that enable better decision-making and improved service delivery. Standardising the digital presence of our MDAs is a critical step towards building a more connected and efficient government ecosystem,” he added.
Agbata further stated that Agency will continue to work with MDAs to ensure that government digital platforms align with approved standards and support the broader vision of a smarter, more accessible, and citizen-centred Anambra.
“MDAs that are yet to establish their official digital platforms are advised to take advantage of the support framework provided by the Agency and work towards full alignment with the State’s digital governance standards”, Agbata concluded.
