A delegation from the Anambra Man of the Year (AMTY) Awards on June 30, paid a courtesy visit to the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, following her unanimous nomination for the prestigious Public Servant of the Year Award.
The delegation, comprising Prof. Adaoma Igwedibia, Mr. Chikezie Chiedu, and Mr. Chinedu Okafor, formally conveyed the nomination and briefed the Rector on the vision and objectives of the AMTY Awards.
The team explained that the awards platform is dedicated to identifying, recognizing, and celebrating individuals who have distinguished themselves through exemplary leadership, integrity, innovation, and selfless service to society.
According to the delegation, Dr. Awuzie’s unanimous nomination followed her transformational leadership, innovative reforms, and the remarkable progress recorded at Federal Polytechnic Oko within a relatively short period of her administration.
They noted that her commitment to institutional development and academic excellence has continued to attract widespread commendation.
Responding, Dr. Awuzie expressed profound appreciation to the organizers, describing the nomination as a recognition of the collective efforts, dedication, and hard work of the entire Federal Polytechnic Oko community.
She reaffirmed her commitment to providing purposeful leadership and sustaining reforms that will further position the institution for greater growth, innovation, and academic excellence.
The Rector formally accepted the nomination and assured the delegation of her attendance at the forthcoming award ceremony.
Also speaking, the Deputy Rector (Administration), Dr. Ferguson Ezeokafor commended the organizers of the Anambra Man of the Year Awards for sustaining a credible platform that recognizes excellence, integrity, and impactful public service. He described the initiative as a source of encouragement to public servants committed to making meaningful contributions to society.
