For the outgoing councillors of Njikoka Local Government Area(LGA), the end of their tenure marks the close of one chapter of grassroots service and the beginning of another phase in their public and private lives.
The Anambra State Commissioner for Environment and former Chairman of Njikoka LGA, Dr. Clem Aguiyi, Esq., acknowledged their service in a valedictory message on Sept. 20, commending them for their commitment to their wards and the wider local government.
Aguiyi said their legislative responsibilities, community engagements and cooperation with the LGS leadership had contributed to grassroots representation and local governance.
“You served at a critical time in our democratic journey and acquitted yourselves as true representatives of your various wards. Your loyalty to the LGA, passion for welfare of constituents and cooperation with leadership of Local Government will remain deeply appreciated,” he said.
The former council chairman noted that their time in office had become part of Njikoka’s legislative history, encouraging them to draw on the experience as they moved into their next phase.
He expressed hope that the relationships and goodwill built during their tenure would continue to serve them and their communities.
“You leave the LGA with our highest respect and best wishes. May your future be brighter, and may history be kind to you for your service to Njikoka. Thank you for serving. Congratulations,” he added.
Aguiyi said committed grassroots leadership remains important to effective representation, community development and democratic participation.
