Driven by a commitment to youth development in Aguata, the Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike, has announced the sponsorship of 15 persons from the LGA for technical training at the Innoson Kiara Academy, Nnewi. The Innoson Kiara Academy is a technical and vocational education institute specializing in automobile manufacturing and maintenance.
According to an official statement, the 15 selected candidates will undergo three months of intensive training in Auto Mechanics, which covers mechanical and electrical/electronic systems, as well as Vehicle Body Building, comprising panel beating and spray painting.
The statement noted that the opportunity is open to indigenes and residents of Aguata LGA. Interested persons are expected at the selection exercise slated for Friday, April 17, 2026, by 9 a.m. at the Aguata LGA Secretariat, Mayor’s Office Complex.
Applicants are required to come with two recent passport photographs, available school certificates, certificate of identification, birth certificate or baptismal card, ID card, and genotype/blood group result. The sponsorship will cover full tuition, accommodation, training manuals, personal protective equipment, training ID, and feeding support, it stated.
Mayor Ofobuike described the move as deliberate, aimed at developing Aguata people. “Any society that fails to harness its youth’s energy and creativity will be left behind,” he said, quoting Kofi Annan. “In Aguata LGA, tomorrow begins today, and impossibility is nothing.”
