Two councillors representing Achina I and Achina II in Aguata Local Government Area(LGA) have sponsored one year of free education for 100 pupils, in a move aimed at easing the financial burden on families and improving access to learning.
The initiative, introduced on Oct. 9, by Hon. C. C. Akunne and Hon. Umenwofor Chinedu, was witnessed by the Mayor of Aguata LGA, Hon. Kingsley Ezeagu, and his Deputy, Hon. Chiamaka Ezeoke.

Speaking at the event, Mayor Ezeagu commended the councillors for investing in the education of children, describing the initiative as a practical contribution to expanding learning opportunities in the area.
He noted that the programme complemented efforts to improve access to education and encouraged other stakeholders to support initiatives that help children remain in school.

The mayor interacted with the pupils, urging them to take their studies seriously, remain focused and strive for academic excellence. He further made a financial contribution to support the beneficiaries.
The one year sponsorship is expected to provide some relief for the pupils and their families while helping the children continue their education.

Mayor Ezeagu thanked the councillors for the initiative and called on other individuals and stakeholders to support similar efforts to promote education and improve opportunities for young people across Aguata.
