As part of efforts to enhance productivity and accountability among staff, the Anambra State Attorney General (AG) and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Tobechukwu Nweke (SAN), has intensified routine office inspections across the Ministry of Justice.

Since assuming office, Nweke has made physical inspection of offices and personnel a daily exercise aimed at monitoring staff attendance and punctuality. The initiative, according to him, is designed to ascertain compliance with civil service rules and ensure that workers report to duty as required.

Speaking during one of the inspection rounds, the Attorney General stressed that all civil servants are expected to be present at work and resume on time, noting that the era of laxity and absenteeism would no longer be tolerated. He added that the exercise is also intended to awaken idle and underperforming workers to their responsibilities.

The inspection further extended to assessing the working conditions of staff, with particular attention to the state of office facilities. Nweke observed that inadequate infrastructure such as poor lighting, lack of functional laptops, printers, air conditioning systems, and fans have continued to hinder effective service delivery.

He assured that necessary steps would be taken to address these challenges to create a more conducive work environment for optimal performance. The Attorney General reiterated his commitment to repositioning the Ministry of Justice, stating that no effort would be spared in transforming it into a model ministry in the state.

Nweke also warned that any staff found wanting in the discharge of their duties would be reassigned, emphasizing that efficiency and dedication would be the hallmark of the ministry under his leadership.
