AG NWEKE CELEBRATES APPOINTMENT WITH LAWYERS, VOWS JUSTICE SYSTEM REFORMS

The Anambra State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Tobechukwu Nweke (SAN), on Friday, 27th March 2026 celebrated his recent appointment with lawyers of the Ministry of Justice, pledging to reposition the state’s justice system for improved service delivery. The event, held at the Country Club in Awka, drew members of the judiciary, legal practitioners, and notable stakeholders in the state.

Speaking at the gathering, Her Worship, Lorretta Elsie Okoye described Nweke as a man of great humility, expressing confidence in his capacity to deliver on his mandate. She commended Governor Charles Soludo for what she termed a well-deserved appointment, noting that the new Attorney General is humane, accessible, and always willing to listen. Okoye also praised Nweke’s wife for her supportive role and friendly disposition, highlighting the synergy between the couple.

In separate remarks, Barrister Maxwell Udechukwu described Nweke as a legal luminary and a seasoned professional, while Barrister Chisom Nwajiagu, who proposed the toast, portrayed him as intelligent, open-minded, and a committed family man, wishing him greater heights in office.

In his response, Nweke reiterated his commitment to reforming the justice sector, promising to equip lawyers with necessary data to enhance efficiency. He urged legal officers to brace for a more demanding work environment, noting that he would maintain constant communication through calls and digital platforms to ensure optimal performance.

The Attorney General also assured them of his readiness to support difficult cases, including appearing in court alongside them when necessary. He expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to serve and appreciated attendees, including Her Worship, Amaka Maduka, Chief Sir Tony Collins Nwabunwanne, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, and Professor Solo Chukwudebelu, former Secretary to the State Government, for their support.
