CLERIC URGES CHILDREN TO UPHOLD MORAL VALUES

An Anglican priest, Canon Onyebuchi Obinwa, has urged children to uphold moral values and demonstrate good character in all aspects of their lives.
Canon Obinwa made the call Oon Sunday , 9 August, during the Anglican Christian Children Carnival held at Amazing Grace Anglican Church, Isiowulu, Obosi in Idemili North LGA

He advised the children to shun immoral and corrupt practices, including prostitution, drunkenness, stealing, deception and other behaviours capable of negatively affecting their future.

The cleric encouraged the children to exhibit Christ-like attitudes and lifestyles, noting that their good conduct could inspire and attract other children who had not embraced the Christian faith.
Canon Obinwa also urged the children to assist less privileged children in whatever way they could, rather than mocking, abusing or constantly reminding them of their difficult circumstances.

He, however, cautioned them to exercise wisdom when helping others, noting that the prevailing level of corruption in society could sometimes expose people to danger.

The priest advised the children to seek God’s guidance and apply wisdom in their dealings with others.

He further urged them to be their brothers’ and sisters’ keepers, avoid indecent dressing, carefully choose their friends and help bring back those who had strayed to Christ, whom he described as the Good Shepherd.

Canon Obinwa charged the children to live exemplary lives worthy of emulation and contribute positively to society.
