The 8th edition of the competition is scheduled to hold on June 26, at the Emeka and Bunmi Anyaoku Foundation Centre
The appeal was conveyed through flyers and leaflets distributed to school administrators across the two council areas, as well as through announcements circulated on various social media platforms.
According to the organisers, each participating school is entitled to register one pupil free of charge, while an additional fee of N2,000 will be paid for every extra pupil registered for the competition. Participation is open exclusively to pupils in Primary Five and Primary Six.
Teachers from participating schools will be involved in setting questions across various subjects, marking scripts and awarding scores to contestants.
At the end of the exercise, the top 35 pupils will be rewarded for their outstanding performance. The five highest-scoring contestants will receive cash prizes, while the remaining 30 pupils will be presented with consolation prizes.
Speaking on the significance of the competition, Engr. Ochokwu, one of the organisers, said the annual event was designed to stimulate pupils’ interest in learning, promote academic excellence and strengthen their appreciation of education.
He noted that the competition also provides a platform for pupils from different schools to interact, build friendships and develop valuable social skills that will contribute to their personal growth and confidence.
According to him, exposing children to healthy academic competition encourages them to embrace education as a pathway to success and self-development.
Described by the organisers as the largest primary school quiz competition in Anambra State, the event has continued to attract participation from schools across Idemili North and South over the years.
