The Head of Service, Anambra State, Ngozi Anuli Iwouno, Esq,. mni has described civil servants as the engine room of our state’s progress, pledging continued commitment to improving welfare, capacity building, and the work environment.

In her 2026 Workers’ Day goodwill message issued on May 1, in Awka, Iwouno celebrated the dedication and resilience of the Anambra State workforce, saying their professionalism keeps the state functioning daily.

Iwouno noted that under Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration, the state has prioritised an efficient, technology driven, and responsive civil service. “You embody the ‘Solution’ agenda through your service,” HOS praised the workers.

She extended special appreciation to Governor Soludo, for his commitment to Civil Servants’ welfare under the Solution Agenda, citing the implementation of the minimum wage, prompt payment of salaries and pensions, staff training programmes, and ongoing efforts to improve the work environment as proof of leadership that prioritises workers’ well-being and dignity.

The Head of Service further assured workers of her office’s commitment, saying: “As we mark this year’s Workers’ Day, I assure you that the office of the Head of Service remains committed to improving welfare, capacity building, and creating a work environment where every civil servant can thrive and be proud of their contributions,” HOS said.

Addressing workers as “Ndi Olu ibe m” Iwouno urged them to remain focused, collaborative, and committed to excellence in support of Soludo’s vision of a livable, prosperous, and globally competitive Anambra.

“Thank you for your sacrifices and for upholding the values of integrity and excellence. Let us continue to work together to build the Anambra of our dreams,” she added.

She wished the entire workforce of Anambra State and Nigeria at large a happy workers’ day.
