The Secretary, Obizi Youths Association (OYA) in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra, Engr. Chike Nwoye has reposed confidence on Soludo’s ‘Onwa Dezemba’ programme while describing it as an impressive idea.
Engr. Nwoye said this in an interaction session with our reporters on the state of the Nation.
He said that the ‘Onwa Dezemba’ programme would help to alleviate fear and anxiety associated with festivals.
“There has been fears and agitations of insecurity in the nation but since our Solution Governor has reiterated his plan to ensure that Ndi Anambra enjoy their festivities in calm and safety atmosphere through his ‘Onwa Dezemba’ programme, we are optimistic that Anambra is safe for us this season,” he added.
He congratulated Governor Soludo for his re-election into second tenure while urging Ndi Anambra to always key into all the transformative initiatives of the governor.
On his part, the Special Adviser to Onitsha North Mayor on New Media, Hon. Uche Aniebue who hailed the ‘Onwa Dezemba’ Initiative of the governor said that ‘Ndi Anambra’ were known to celebrate Christmas/New Year in their home towns.
Hon. Aniebue urged the people of the state to feel free to enjoy their festivals and entertain their loved ones this season as Governor Soludo led administration is working hard to ensure safety of lives and property.
“The festive season is an avenue for people to meet their loved ones, attend ‘umunna’ meetings as well as other important occasions. So ‘Ndi Anambra’ should ignore fake information and unverified news in the social media about insecurity in the state,” he said.
Hon. Aniebue, however, urged ‘Ndi Anambra’ to return home en masse without fear, adding that the state is safe with tight security in check.
Other respondents expressed satisfaction on the ‘Onwa Dezemba’ programme, adding that it will help to check the security of the state.
They urged the residents of the state to comply with security agents to ensure peace and safety this Christmas/New year season.
It has been reported that ‘Onwa Dezemba’ Initiative of the State Government was aimed to position Anambra State as the cultural/entertainment heartbeat of the South East.
According to Governor Soludo, it is an ambitious project targeted to make ‘Ndi Anambra’ and December 2025 festivities and home safe.
