The wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has advocated equal opportunities and inclusion for women and girls as the world marks Women’s Equality Day today.
Dr. Soludo made the call in a message shared today, August 27, where she celebrated women’s strength, brilliance, resilience and invaluable contributions to families, communities and society across Nigeria and beyond.
She stressed that equality is not about giving women an advantage, but ensuring every woman and girl has opportunities to learn, lead, work, dream and thrive without limitations or discrimination.
According to her, women and girls should pursue their aspirations without limitations imposed by gender, culture, religion or other social impediments that may hinder their progress and development in society.
The Anambra First Lady said empowering women strengthens families, promotes healthier communities and helps societies move forward, urging continued commitment to women’s empowerment, participation and meaningful inclusion in society.
She called for a world where every girl can see possibilities in her future and every woman can confidently take her rightful place at the table without restrictions or discrimination.
Dr. Soludo also celebrated women who inspire, nurture, lead and transform the world, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to families, communities and societal development in countless meaningful and impactful ways.
She urged society to create spaces where women’s voices are heard, their contributions valued and their potential fully realised, without discrimination, unnecessary barriers or gender-based limitations affecting progress and advancement.
The Anambra First Lady said continued efforts toward equality and inclusion would help create stronger families, healthier communities and a society where women and girls can thrive and fulfil their dreams.
