The Anambra State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs. Chinyere Esther Onyekesi, has pledged the ministry’s partnership with the Chaplain Corps Policing Explorers (CHAPOL) to curb social vices among students and youths in the state.
Onyekesi gave the assurance when the Anambra State Commandant of CHAPOL, Mr. Joseph Ekwunife, led members of the organisation on a courtesy visit to the ministry in Awka on July 9.
She commended CHAPOL for its voluntary service in government secondary schools across the state and assured the organisation of the ministry’s support in promoting moral values and youth development.

Earlier, Ekwunife said CHAPOL had been operating in Anambra for 13 years in partnership with the Ministry of Education, carrying out campaigns to promote moral values among secondary school students.
He described CHAPOL as a non-governmental paramilitary organisation supporting the Anambra State Government’s efforts to combat social vices, particularly in public secondary schools.
Ekwunife also commended the wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr Mrs. Nonye Soludo, for her Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo initiative, which he said had continued to positively impact women, youths and children across the state.
