The Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) under the Anambra State Ministry of Transport, in collaboration with the Drivers Welfare Club of Nigeria, has successfully conducted a Passing-Out Parade (POP) ceremony for a newly trained batch of Vehicle Inspection Marshals.

The ceremony, held in Awka, brought together dignitaries, senior government officials, and invited guests to celebrate the successful completion of an intensive training programme. The newly inducted marshals underwent rigorous instruction in traffic management, vehicle inspection procedures, road safety regulations, and public service ethics.
Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Engr. Mike Obiekwe, who took the salute, charged the marshals to remain dedicated, disciplined, and resolute in the discharge of their duties. He formally commissioned them for active service, emphasizing the importance of professionalism in their role.

In his address, the Chief Vehicle Inspection Officer, Engr. Achuam MacDonald, commended the graduates for their commitment throughout the training period. He urged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, diligence, and professionalism, noting that VIO marshals play a critical role in ensuring the roadworthiness of vehicles and enhancing safety on the highways.

Also speaking, the National President of the Drivers Welfare Club of Nigeria, Comrade Monday Elimigbe, expressed appreciation to the Permanent Secretary for his leadership and support. He further commended VIO officials for the successful organization of the event and encouraged the marshals to carry out their responsibilities with dedication and professionalism. On behalf of the graduates, he pledged loyalty, diligence, and integrity to the Anambra State Government.

The newly inducted marshals, in their response, expressed gratitude for the training received and affirmed their commitment to contributing positively toward reducing road accidents and enforcing traffic laws across the state.
The ceremony featured impressive drills, parade displays, and the exchange of compliments—symbolizing the readiness of the marshals to serve with excellence.
