UNIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT STAFF ENDORSE SOLUDO FOR A SECOND TERM IN OFFICE

Staff members of the unified Local Government system in the 21 Local Government Areas of the state have unanimously endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo for a second term in office.
The declaration was made during the second edition of the Local Government Service Week in Awka.
Overwhelmed by the unprecedented giant strides recorded by the governor in his first term in office, the group could not hide their feelings and emotions through dancing, clappings and unleashing supportive gestures in support of his development strides.
In an address, the Chairman of the Commission, Vin Ezeaka (Esq) commended the governor for making the state proud through his legacy projects which cut across all the 3 Senatorial Zones of the state.
Mr. Ezeaka conveyed the appreciation of the Solution Vanguard under his watch which has promised to mobilize voters through a massive grassroots campaign to demonstrate their support.
Making reference to the theme of the Week, “Enhancing Effective Service Delivery In The Local Government System,’ the Commission’s boss said it captures the governor’s vision for the local government system as the cornerstone for community development.
According to him, the commission honoured three local government administrators who have distinguished themselves as role models in the Anambra State Local Government Administration.
He listed some of the pressing needs of the local government system to include containing with the reality and consequences of its retiring staff which call for recruitment before the next 3 years when over 90% of its workforce will retire and the challenges of non digitalization in a fast growing digital economy.
The commission’s boss spoke of the launching of the second edition of the Solution Magazine which showcases the governor’s achievements and the establishment of the Solution Vanguard, a Soludo support group created as an opinion – moulding platform designed to promote government’s activities at the local level.
In a message to the occasion, one of the decorated local government administrators who received the chairman’s award as “Exceptional Local Government Administrator’ for 2025 ,and the Head of Local Government Administration for Awka South Local Government Area, Chief Mrs. Rita Chike-Obuekwe made bold to speak of her vast contributions in the local government administration in the state
According to Mrs. Chike- Obuekwe, a renowned administrator, improvements in the training and retraining of local government workers, the upgrading of their incentives and welfare cannot be mentioned without recounting her contributions in their actualization.
She promised to sustain her zeal of perfection ,and used the forum to acknowledge Governor Soludo’s passion to develop the state.
Chief Mrs. Chike- Obuekwe further paid tribute to her spouse and retired Chairman of several local government areas in the state, Chief Chike- Obuekwe for mentoring her and galvanizing her success to stardom.
In another message, the Chairman Planning committee of the programme and member one in the Local Government Service Commission, Chief Azubuike Okoye aptly described Governor Soludo as “Oluatuegwu’ who has given life to the state local government system and therefore deserves to go for a second term in office.
Contributing, the member four in the local government service commission and a former state legislator, Mrs. Anthonia Tabansi-Okoye commended Governor Soludo for instilling life in local government system and rewarding her belief and support for him by appointing her as member four in the local government service commission.
According to her, the state under Governor Soludo has witnessed an impressive change for the better.
In his response to the accolades showered on him, Governor Soludo promised to equitably address the challenges facing the local government system such as the recruitment of staff to replace the retiring staff members, staff training among other requests.
The governor commended the staff of the unified local government system for keying into the digital movement of his administration which is the global trend.
He thanked the group for endorsing him for a second term in office and called on all hands to work towards moving the state to the next level with him.
