An Obstetrician Gynae Oncologist, Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, Nnewi Campus, Associate Professor Osita Umeononihu has condemned the unrepentant attitude of many top Nigerian leaders who prefer to patronize foreign hospitals at the detriment of Nigerian hospitals when they are sick.
Making reference to late President Muhammadu Buhari who was reported to have given up the ghost in a London hospital and other countless incidences, Prof. Umeononihu described the attitude as simply a mindset and inflated ego of such leaders who choose to die abroad.

The medical expert in a press statement in Awka, described many Nigerian leaders as people of status who see everything made in Nigeria as inferior.
According to him, such mindset undermines the pride of nationhood and stifles the promotion of made in Nigeria products, especially medical doctors and other health experts who are available and abundant in Nigeria.
Prof. Umeononihu made reference to many teaching hospitals in Nigeria namely the National Hospital Abuja, St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos and other top world class teaching hospitals with up to date medical facilities in the country which can conveniently attend to the health needs of any high profile political leader in Nigeria.
The medical expert commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for patronizing made in Nigeria products through the use of Akwaete clothes and Innoson vehicles, a gesture which other leaders should emulate.
