TRUSTFUND PENSIONS REASSURES CONTRIBUTORS, INTRODUCES MOBILE APP FOR EASY ACCESS TO RECORDS

Staff and management of the Ministry of Power and Water Resources recently hosted representatives of Trustfund Pensions Limited during an official visit aimed at addressing concerns over halted pension deductions and strengthening client engagement.
The delegation, led by Mr. Vintus Okonkwo and Mr. Okwudili Somtochukwu, visited the ministry following the state government’s directive suspending monthly pension deductions from staff salaries.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Okonkwo reassured contributors that all previously remitted pension funds remain secure, actively managed, and continuously invested to yield returns. He emphasized that Trustfund Pensions Limited is among the leading Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) in Nigeria, operating within a network of eighteen PFAs responsible for managing retirement savings across both public and private sectors.

A major highlight of the visit was the introduction of the company’s digital platform, including a mobile application designed to provide clients with seamless access to their pension records. According to Mr. Okonkwo, the app enables contributors to monitor their accounts, view transaction histories, and carry out basic pension-related activities without visiting physical offices.
He also introduced TIVA (Trustfund Interactive Visual Assistance), an innovative feature developed to assist clients—particularly those who have lost or forgotten their Pension Identification Numbers (PINs). TIVA allows users to conveniently retrieve their pension details. While the service is primarily accessible via mobile numbers registered on the MTN network, alternative access options are available for users on other networks.
The representatives noted that these digital tools form part of Trustfund’s broader strategy to align with global technological trends and enhance service delivery through digital transformation.
Mr. Okonkwo further advised staff approaching retirement to begin the process of record revalidation at least one year in advance to ensure timely access to their benefits. He also explained the two main retirement benefit options available to contributors: Programmed Withdrawal, which is managed by Pension Fund Administrators, and Annuity, which is handled by insurance companies.
To ensure continuous communication and support, the team provided a dedicated contact number (09070088008) and encouraged clients to reach out via WhatsApp for inquiries and assistance.
The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, allowing staff members to seek clarifications and gain deeper insights into pension management and the newly introduced digital tools.
