YOUTH DEVELOPMENT MINISTRY MONITORS 1 YOUTH 2 SKILLS TRAINING CENTERS IN AWKA SOUTH LGA

The Anambra State Ministry of Youth Development has visited 30 Training Centres in Awka South Local Government Area to monitor the ongoing training of second phase of 1 Youth 2 Skills Solution Program and to assess the level of progress achieved.

The Training Centres visited include; Thrills Lawel Fashion and Design, Stanprisy confessionary, Rose beauty salon, Chijioke Okoro cosmetology, J S beauty hub, Preshy cee beauty care, Supreme taste catering as well as Confessionary and Dilinya John Aluminum Fabrication centre.

The monitoring team led by the Commissioner, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba said that the monitoring exercise is to ensure that the program is going on smoothly across the State, adding that Mr. Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, is building a life time business hub using a developmental plan tagged 1Youth 2 Skills Solution.

He also said that the program has a well-designed human capital development strategy which will transform lives and fortunes, reduce unemployment drastically and solve the problem of insecurity in the state.

The commissioner further said that 1 Youth 2 Skills program is purely a community based programme designed to incorporate five very important stages such as Apprenticeship/Vocational Skills Training Scheme, Entrepreneurship Scheme, Cooperative Formation, Business Financing Scheme and One Year Mentorship Scheme.

Mr. Agha Mba said that 220,000 youths applied for the program but 10,000 were accepted, charging the trainees to take the training serious and not to see the Governor’s gesture as mere political empowerment but as a development plan that is already designed to equip them to be more strategic in business so as to win as a successful business owners in the future.

Two of the trainees, Emenike Chinwe from Awka and Chukwu Chioma from Enugu State thanked Mr. Governor for the wonderful opportunities giving to them to be part of this Program and promised not to disappoint the ministry after the trainings.

Some of the trainees who spoke during the inspection visit expressed heart felt gratitude to the state government and commended the ministry for the privilege given to them to acquire more knowledge through 1Youth 2 Skills Solution program.

SECOND PHASE OF 1 YOUTH 2 SKILLS PROGRAM KICKS OFF IN AYAMELUM

The second phase of the 1 Youth 2 Skills program themed, “Value Re-Orientation” has commenced in Ayamelum Local Government Area. 

The Ayamelum LGA Chairman, Mr. Alphonsus Ofumelu, officially launched the program at the LGA Secretariat in Anaku.

The initiative, spearheaded by Gov. Chukwuma Soludo’s administration, was supervised by the Anambra State Ministry of Youth Development, led by Commissioner Patrick Agha Mba.

The program aimed to empower youths after 4-6 months of training in their chosen skills, providing startup funds to establish their own businesses.

Ofumelu commended Gov. Soludo for his commitment to youth development, saying that the program will elevate Anambra State to new heights. 

He encouraged participants to take the program seriously to transform their lives and positively impact on the society.

Osita Ozalagba, representing the Commissioner’s Office, cautioned trainees against misusing their attendance or missing classes, as this will lead to disqualification.

Speaking on behalf of the trainees, Mr Emma Ozuonye expressed heartfelt gratitude to the state government for the opportunity and promised that they will make the most of it, praying for God’s blessings on the Soludo-led administration.

Other people in attendance include the master trainers, Coordinator, National Youth Council of Nigeria Ayamelum LGA Chapter, Peter Okwuobo, and Ohaneze Youth Coordinator, Mr Clement Nweke.

NNEWI NORTH CHAIRMANSHIP CANDIDATE, ANAZODO FELICITATES WITH TRAINEES OF 1 YOUTH 2 SKILLS PROGRAMME

The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Nnewi North Chairmanship, Mr. Echezona Anazodo, visited the Nnewi North Secretariat, to congratulate trainees of the second phase of the 1 Youth 2 Skills empowerment program.

The program, launched by Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, aimed to equip over 10,000 youths across the state with various skills and provide seed capital of N2 billion.

In his address, Anazodo commended the trainees on their selection and urged them to acquire the necessary skills to succeed in life,  thanking Gov. Soludo for the opportunity and pledged to consolidate on the initiative when elected into office.

“I am committed to ensuring the steady empowerment of Anambra youths, as envisioned by Gov. Soludo’s administration. I will build on this program to create a prosperous homeland for all.”

Anambra West Council Boss Presents Certificates, Cheques to Anambra West Beneficiaries of 1 Youth 2 Skills Initiative Programme

The Transition Committee Chairman of Anambra West Local Government Area, Mr. Felix Ikechi has handed over cheques and certificates to the Anambra West beneficiaries of the just concluded first batch of the 1 youth 2 skills empowerment program of the Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration.

The program which was Initiated by the present administration of Governor Soludo was aimed at lifting thousands of Youths off the streets and engaging them meaningfully in different skills for them to be self reliant and sufficient.

Handing over the cheques and certificate to forty-seven beneficiaries from Anambra West at the local council sub office Umueze Anam, Mr. Ikechi noted that the programme which was aimed at empowering the youths with essential skills for self-sufficiency, would certainly make a significant impact on the lives of the young individuals.

He commended Governor Soludo administration for taking thousands of youths off the streets through the initiative, saying that investing in human capital development remains the greatest of all Investment.

The Anambra West TC Chairman commended the beneficiaries for their determination and commitment in acquiring new skills, which he believed are essential for the socio-economic growth of Anambra State.

He advised them to utilize the rare opportunity to develop their lives, noting that the Governor is poised in making Anambra youths self reliant through various skills, urging them to remain focused, committed and dedicated to become employers of labour in months to come.
