The Staff of the Anambra State Ministry of Culture and Tourism received the newly sworn-in Commissioner, Mr. Udoji Anedu, in a colourful welcome ceremony held at the ministry’s Administrative Hall.
The event, brought together the management and staff of the ministry, who expressed excitement and readiness to work with the new commissioner to advance the ministry’s mandate.
In his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr. Jerome Ilokwu, congratulated Mr. Anedu on his appointment and assured him of the staff’s full support and commitment toward the successful execution of his responsibilities.
Responding, the commissioner called for dedication, loyalty, and commitment from all staff members. He stressed that teamwork and cooperation would be critical to moving the ministry forward.
Mr. Anedu urged employees to remain focused, contribute innovative ideas, and help improve the ministry’s performance and public image. “I encourage everyone to contribute ideas that will move the ministry forward without fear. I want us to work as a team and remain united in our efforts to reposition the ministry.”
The commissioner reiterated his determination to raise the standards of the ministry and ensure that every opportunity for growth and development is maximized. He also charged staff to be punctual, disciplined, and committed, noting that professionalism would be key to achieving set goals.
The occasion featured cultural performances and drama presentations by the ministry’s Tourism Drama and Entertainment Unit, which showcased the state’s rich cultural heritage and expressed the staff’s joy at the commissioner’s arrival.
Mr. Anedu assured the workforce of an open-door policy, pledging to maintain a listening ear and work closely with staff to build a more vibrant and effective Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
