The Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, says Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s focus on Education is part of a broader plan to create a “smart megacity” filled with smart citizens.
Prof. Chuma-Udeh made the remarks while commissioning a newly renovated school block at Pioneer Secondary School, Umuchu. The block includes an examination hall, digital library, and other modern facilities aimed at fostering digital literacy among students.
The commissioner highlighted that Governor Soludo declared a state of emergency in education, ensuring that schools have teachers, introducing genuine free education, and establishing smart schools across the state.

In his remarks, the Aguata Council Chairman, Prince Chibeze Oforbike, praised the governor for his education-focused policies. He noted that the renovation and other ongoing projects at Umuchu Community High School and Government Technical College, Umuchu, were made possible through collaboration with local and diaspora elites.

Also speaking, the President General of Umuchu Improvement Union, Hon. Ifeanyi Emegwa, said the projects reflect a vision for a brighter future for the youth through quality education and modern infrastructure.
Highlight of the event was a tour of the facility by the Commissioner of Education, Prof. Chuma-Udeh and her team.
